We were happy to host Márton Sereg and Zsolt Varga, Co-Founders of Riptides, plus Karel Zheng (KAYA VC) and Dániel Kiss-Király (PortfoLion Capital Partners).
Riptides raised €3.3M in Hungary’s largest-ever pre-seed round to solve a huge cybersecurity challenge: managing non-human identities — service accounts, API keys, tokens, certificates, and more. In a world where machines outnumber humans in production, their platform helps enterprises securely govern it all.
The round, led by PortfoLion and Czech-based KAYA VC, fuels product dev, security research, and early design partnerships.
The founding team knows the game: They have two exits under their belts, previously built Banzai Cloud (acquired by Cisco) and SequenceIQ (acquired by Hortonworks).
The convo was joined by two of their investors:
– Karel Zheng, investor at KAYA VC, a leading early-stage fund backing bold, founder-led startups in CEE and beyond—including Kifi.hu, BetterStack, E2B or Docplanner
– Dániel Kiss-Király, Principal at PortfoLion, the CEE-focused VC investing in ambitious B2B software companies with global traction.
